Lisa Woolfork Associate Professor

After working as a Project Director for English for many years, participating in programs around the state, Lisa Woolfork now joins the CLA as its co-director.  Lisa is an Associate Professor in the English Department specializing in African American Literature and Culture. She was appointed to the inaugural class of the University of Virginia’s College Fellows where she piloted a program to revise the college’s general education requirements. She’s also served as a UVA Public Voices Fellow publishing in The Huffington Post, CNN, and The Washington Post. She will be deeply involved in the 2020 version of the highly anticipated program “Teaching the History of Race in the United States. We are very excited to have her onboard at CLA and look forward to our future endeavors together.
